Dad and Isaac Tailgating

Isaac loves to play in the dirt with lil Wade.

Wade, Isaac and Will smile for the camera.

Donavan helps Isaac smash a "pump."

Here are some photos of Isaac and Donavan tailgating on campus this weekend. Tina and Wade organize such a fun family friendly tailgate. I decided to go grocery shopping and make a batch of caramel corn while they were on campus. It was so nice to go grocery shopping and not have to use one of those race car buggies:) Isaac loved playing with the older kids, especially the boys. The kids enjoying smashing pumpkins as the dawgs were playing Tennessee. Isaac loved playing with the bat, but obviously did not understand why they were destroying the pumpkins. Donavan went to the game with his friend Chuck and Isaac came home for a much deserved nap!

Getting ready for fall (and Halloween)

This week we got out some of our Halloween decorations. Most of our stuff is in storage in Macon, but I did stumble across a few things. Isaac loved putting the gel stickers on his window. They are in shapes of leaves, pumpkins, and acorns. We had the window all decoarted and I had closed the blinds so we could look at them from the outside. A few hours later I couldn't find Isaac in the main living area and it was too quiet for comfort (quiet==mischievious behavior). I went into his bedroom and Isaac was underneath the blinds rearranging the stickers. We also made some halloween crafts this morning after going to our Mom's Bible Study at the Church. Isaac really enjoyed using the glue stick to attach the eyes, etc. on the pumpkin you'll see in the photo.

Golf

Isaac decided to play golf with a baseball bat this morning. He told me he wanted to go golfing with Great Poppi. I caught this video. It's raining like cats and dogs here today so we've been finding inside projects to work on.

Touch a Truck, Tennis Tournament, Barnes and Noble

Isaac and Alexis take a break from playing in the train section at Barnes and Noble.

Tennis tournament fundraiser for St. Joe's School. Isaac with his friend Drew. One day Isaac will no doubt be wanting to play in the tournament.

Touch a Truck Day photos.

I took Isaac to play with some of his friends at Barnes and Noble. Isaac really enjoys the train section and looking at the books. I realized that his time limit is about 45 minutes and then he starts getting ansy and we need to move on or else he'll start taking all of the books off shelves.

Donavan took Isaac to Touch a Truck sponsored by Athens Clarke County leisure services. He loved the fire truck, but also enjoyed the back hoe, tractor, ambulance, lawn mower and garbage truck. He was really frightened by the noises some of the louder trucks made, but enjoyed pretending to drive and figure out how all of the gadgets worked.

Donavan's school had a tennis tournament fundraiser this weekend so some of the pictures are of Isaac playing with his friend Drew. It was really interesting to watch Isaac relate to older kids at the tournament. When approached by little girls Isaac shyed away and stood behind my leg, but once Drew (a boy) showed up he was not shy at all. Isaac enjoyed watching the "t ball" (tennis ball) matches.

Uncle Phil

We learned today that Uncle Phil is taking some vacation time at Christmas so we'll likely see him in the States. That's great news; I took a video of Isaac showing his excitement. He was jumping up and down when I first told him and had settled down a bit by the time I found the camera. Sorry, I couldn't flip the video.

Today, Isaac went to preschool and I went and volunteered at Kindermarket. He was excited to have Daddy pick him up from school and I was thrilled with the bargains I bought after volunteering at the consignment sale.

Halloween Sugar Cookies

Today after preschool, I decided to make cut out sugar cookies with Isaac. I thought we'd mix the dough up and do a few cut outs and then I would finish the project (cut out the majority of the cookies and bake) while Isaac took his nap. Well, Isaac decided not to nap so he was up for the entire baking project. He particularly liked using the hand held mixer. We typically use the Kitchenaid mixer so this was his first experience with the hand held mixer. He didn't grasp the concept of cutting out the shapes, but really like trying. He was a trooper while I finished the cut outs and baking the cookies. We made Halloween shapes--pumpkins, bats, cats and ghosts. I thought we'd decorate them tomorrow, but I am now thinking the sugar cookies are quite delicious without frosting. We'll save frosting cookies for another day!
